KimGary (Vivocity)~

When it comes to Hong Kong Cafe (Xiang1 Gang3 Cai2 Can1 Ting1), i personally think KimGary is number one amongst the many HK cafes in SG. They have a wide selection of food to choose from and they serve quality food.

Chocolate Lembab Cake~

'Lembab', what on earth is that? It means 'moist' in indonesian. Chocolate lembab cake which is normally known by most as chocolate moist cake. The original recipe's from Yochana's cake delight blog.
~*Chocolate Lembab Cake*~
It looks alittle shorter than the one by Yochana's 'coz i baked it for 48 mins in an 8" inch baking tin instead of a 7" inch tin that was stated in the recipe. But nevertheless, the cake is moist and soft.

Sushi Tei (TSC, Ngee Ann City) Part II~

When it comes to Sushi Tei, the outlet at Ngee Ann City is definitely my first choice. Why? Well, for their prompt and pleasant service, good food and the 'value-for-money' satisfaction~ (*grinz* refer to pictures below for more info :p).
~*Seafood Salad*~
So nicely presented. It is interesting how their serving portions can vary between outlets. The seafood salad at the Sushi Tei (Paragon) branch is a far cry from the one shown below.

~*Soft Shell Crab Handroll*~
This is 1 huge soft shell crab~

Bliss Resturant @ Punggol Park~

Bliss Restaurant has a wide selection of fine wines, be it red, white or ice, Australian, German, French, Chilean, South African...etc many of which are well illustrated in their menu.

~*The Arrogant Frog Chardonnay 2006 (french)*~
This was the recommended wine special of the month. It has a nice fruity and sweet smell and a slightly sweet taste. It's a great wine to enjoy while you chill out on a nice and cooling night. (Wine of the month special @ $41)

~*Calamari Caesar Salad @$7.90*~
This was alittle disappointing... The calamari had a good texture and bite but was alittle too oily... the dressing was unevenly done and excessive serving of parmesan cheese made the caesar salad way too salty...

Kopitiam @ Hougang Mall~

After a new make over, the hougang mall is definitely more vibrant and exciting than before with more restaurants such as Ajisen ramen, ichiban sushi, cafe cartel, the soup restaurant, gelare...etc and of course the recently revamped Kopitiam foodcourt that now has a wide selection of food ranging from local favourites such as chicken rice and char kway teow to foreign cusines, e.g. korean, japanese and taiwanese-Pu Tian and of course hot and cold desserts to satisfy the sugar crave~
~*Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles*~
For $4 this Fu2 Jian4 Xia1 Mian4 is not too dry, not too wet, perfect texture, with 3 large prawns... hmmm... if only they included more squid...

~*Fen Yuan*~
Fen yuan is basically a hot dessert containing large sago pearls and a variation of flavoured glutinous rice balls served in either of green bean, red bean or longan soup.
~*Peanut & Sweet Corn Ice Kachang*~
Peanut mixed with sweet corn gives a really nice mix of salty and sweet blend that goes pretty well on the palette. If they only they added chopped peanuts instead of ground peanut bits, the texture would have been perfect.

i would most certainly go back to savour the food from the other stalls~

Dinner @ Mandarin Oriental~

Date: 2nd November 2007
Venue: Mandarin Oriental (Formally known as The Oriental, Singapore)
Time/Duration: 2050-2315H
It was a beautiful night with good food, great company and most importantly to celebrate the union of a lovely couple, J & L~
It has been a tradition for chinese wedding dinner to start after 2030H. After the emcees' opening speech and a video montage session. The dinner commenced with the first dish served, accompanied with a short fancy dance presentation by the waiters and waitresses.
1. ~*Mandarin Oriental Lobster & Prawn with Seafood Roll*~
Fresh juicy prawns, lobster salad, spicy seafood rolls, rock melon balls and strawberries. It was a nice and refreshing way to kick start the dinner and pacify our rumbling tummies.

2. ~*Braised Shark's Fin with Crabmeat*~

3. ~*Stir-Fried Scallop with Spicy Sauce & Deep-Fried Yam Pear*~

4. ~*Crispy Roasted Chicken in "Thai Style"*~
Chicken's head, a'lil body & parson's nose, anyone?

5. ~*Braised Baby Abalone & Dried Mushrooms w Seasonal Vegetable*~

6. ~*Baked Cod Fish in Superior Teriyaki Sauce*~

7. ~*Stewed Ee-Fu noodle with Shredded Mushrooms, Chicken & Yellow Chives *~
The ee-fu noodle had a slightly softer texture and lighter colour (reduced dark soy sauce) from the usual ee-fu noodles served during chinese wedding dinners. It was also not too oily.

8. ~*Double Happiness*~
(Manjari chocolate mousse with chocolate jelly & mango)
This dessert was the final icing on the cake (figure of speech), it was beautifully presented with a touch of class, smooth and moderately sweetened chocolate mousse with a 'lil sour tinge from the mini mango cubes. Perfect!

Fish & Co. @ Paragon~

Craving for seafood, "ang moh" style? Fish & Co. may just be the answer to the craving~ There are a number of Fish & Co. restaurant outlets all over Singapore, the one at the Paragon is a nice place to dine, especially with their warm and friendly service.
~*Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon*~
The salad was dressed with perfection, the lettuce was not excessively creamy or unevenly tossed. My only qualms was with the croutons, they were alittle hard and lacked the fresh crunchy texture. ($8.90++)
~*Seafood Platter for One*~
Looks more like seafood platter for two to me. A nice generous serving of specially seasoned grilled calamari, fish fillet and juicy giant prawns, served with chips and raisin rice. ($19.90++)
