Xin Wang @ Cineleisure~

i haven't been to Xin Wang for sometime... i am pretty impressed by their latest additions to their menu e.g. papaya soup noodles, glutinous rice ball desserts, watermelon-ice jelly ice...etc

Doc Green's (Vivocity)~

i would like to apologise for the lack of 'from the oven' blog enteries recently. The recent 'pop and crack' incident really messed up my schedules and baking plans... At the moment, the best i can do is to blog about recent 'eats'...
Doc Green's gourmet grills & salads restaurant, as the name suggest, offers a wide variety of exotic and exciting salads, sides, and main courses.

~*Half Turkey Sandwich*~

The chips are unsalted! But they're good~

~*Dinner Set*~

From left: (1) Unsweetened Ice tea, the sugar syrup is served separately.

(2) Chunky mushroom soup. i thoroughly enjoyed the tasty, thick, chunky and yummie-licious soup~ A definite must-try when u're at Doc Green's.

(3) Grilled red snapper served with Fruitty salad. The large and fresh red snapper fillet was too much for mi... it was simply "swimming" in olive oil. The fruitty salad dressing was also alittle too sweet for my liking...

i am simply amazed by the variety of salad Doc green's had to offer. i'd be going back to try out their greens~

Starbucks@VivoCity~

My experience at the Starbucks outlet at vivocity can be summarized in 3 words, 'Pleasant', 'Cosy', 'Wonderful'. The service standard is outstanding, the friendly staffs were ever ready to serve and assist.
What can i say? They made my day~ :)
~*Green Tea Frappucino (Tall)*~
The perfect drink to enjoy as you sit back, relax and chill~

Random~

~*Sliced Fish Soup @ ABC Brickworks Hawker Center*~
Fresh and thick fish slices in rich fish broth~ The fish was cooked to perfection :p~

~*Kimchi Chige @ Compasspoint Kopitiam*~
The soup was alittle too sour and lacked the rich kimchi flavour. Furthermore the dish was prepared with fine glass noodles and not the thicker version that is typically served in korean cuisines... The kimchi chige set comes with rice, and kimchi + ikan bilis side dish.

Kyoto Sabo Ajitei (Plaza Singapura)~

Kyoto Sabo Ajitei is located right beside ajisen ramen at level 2 and serves a wider variety of jap food, ranging from ramen, sushi, sashimi, bento, don, ala-carte orders and sweet treats~
~*Salmon Salad*~
Fresh greens, cherry tomatoes and a few pieces of salmon. The 3 little white cups at the top contains the dressing (i requested for the dressing to be served separately).
~*Salmon Sashimi*~
Nicely presented but... it would have been better if the salmon was alittle more chilled.
~*Curry Omu Rice Set*~
Chicken tonkatsu served with japanese curry, omelette wrapped rice, fresh salad and corn soup.
Hmmm... as for the wonderful desserts... will leave that till the next visit~

All-in-2 dinner~

It's been sometime since i last cooked a meal for the family. And this was what i managed to whip up with whatever i could find in the kitchen in a quickie~ :x
~*Curry Seafood*~
Instant Japanese curry with shrimps, fish fillets, potato, tomato and mushrooms~
~*Stir-fried Cabbage with Shitake Mushrooms*~
Stir-fried shredded cabbage, sliced shitake mushrooms, shrimps, and celery with oyster sauce and alittle dark red dates soy sauce.

Fish & Co. (Novena Square)~

Lunch with my family @ fish & co...
~*Clam Chowder Soup*~
Soup of the day~ Nice, creamy and chunky with diced vegetables~
~*Mushroom salad*~
Seasoned sliced mushrooms served with fresh greens and cherry tomatoes, with olive oil and balsamic dressing~
Alittle too generous with the olive oil... i would rather do without the dressing instead...
~*Fish & Chips*~
Dory fish fried, topped with lemon butter and served with chips. An all time favourite~
~*Coriander Catch*~
Grilled dory fish marinated with coriander sauce and served with fresh salad~ Hmmm... you gotta like coriander to enjoy this catch ya~ :p
~*New York Fish & Chips*~
Dory fish with generous cheese stuffing fried and served with chips.
(Woops! No picture... Well...it looks similar to Fish & Chips.)
For the salad and main course, there's a choice to order either ala-carte or with a soup of the day~

Tortillas~

Tortillas, anyone?
The pre-packaged tortillas are readily available from any leading supermarkets. And all you have to do is either (1) select your favourite ingredients, line them up and bake the tortillas in the oven for a few minutes or (2) heat up the tortillas in the microwave before adding your favourite ingredients (e.g. spicy stir fried or stewed minced chicken/beef, fresh vegetables and mozzarella cheese) before popping it back into the microwave/oven for the melting cheese effect~
~*before popping it into the oven*~
Fresh buttercups, diced button mushrooms, onions, green peppers, grilled chicken fillet and mozzarella cheese...

Porridge Buffet (Hao Zhou Dao)~

My very first porridge steamboat buffet @ Hao Zhou Dao, Ang Mo Kio~ It's at level 3, in the same building where This Fashion, Sports Link and Defu furniture shop are located.
Hao Zhou Dao offers indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor (open air but with shelter) dining. Besides their signature porridge with chicken soup there's also tom yam soup that is mildly spicy. Prices are $13.90 and $6.90 nett for adults and children respectively and includes free flow of drinks (fruit punch/lime juce/soursop) and assorted potong ice cream.

Sliced Fish Soup~

Happy 2008~

My first meal of the new year~ a nice hot bowl of fresh sliced fish soup at the Astar coffeeshop in Tampines.
The fish soup is pretty light and not too rich in flavour. The sliced fish is served together with tomatoes, cauliflower, seaweed, lettuce, topped with spring onions and fried shallots.

TCC (Circular Road)~

TCC has been known for their good service, food, desserts and beverages~ i was impressed with the service at the outlet at circular road... but that was like close to a year ago...
At present, the service standard seemed to have declined a 'lil. But nonetheless, some of their signature and new dishes are pretty good and definitely worth a try.
~*Wild Garden Salad*~
i enjoyed the lightly dressed combination of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, tofu green and red salad veggies (a.k.a "GRASS" by my frens -_-)
~*Spicy Beef Soup*~
Beef soup, with a good spicy kick~
~*Beef Mozza - Tofu*~
Tofu and beef served under a layer of baked mozzerella cheese~ Well, JH certainly looked like she was enjoying every bit of the dish :p
~*Snow Fish Fantasia*~
Nicely seasoned breaded snow fish sandwich, served with fresh greens, shredded raw cabbage...etc. J & J's sis really enjoyed it~
~*Oven Baked Marinated Chicken*~
Well marinated chicken, served with spaghetti and fresh greens. A highly recommended and an all time favourite for S.
~*Seafood Aglio Olio*~
J commented that it tasted like fried prawn mee that lacked sufficient seasoning...
~*Spaghetti & Beef Balls*~
The spaghetti would have been much better with a'lil more sauce... both K & KL commented that it was alittle dry...
~*American Cheesecake*~
An all time favourite and a must have for H.

Bakerzin (Vivocity)~

Besides the yummie-licious macaroons and desserts at Bakerzin also serves pretty good and decent meals (salad, soup, pasta, pizza, sandwhiches... etc).

~*Iced Lychee Tea*~

~*Spicy Bloody Mary Soup*~
Tomato soup with tobasco sauce to give it the added spice & kick~

~*Tofu Salad*~
Smooth & fresh tofu and salad, drizzled with soba sauce, enjoyable~

~*Linguini in Mushroom Cream Sauce*~
Just look at the generous serving of mushrooms~
