Ajisen Ramen (Hougang Mall)~

There are quite a few Ajisen outlets all over Singapore and the variety offered may differ slightly between different outlets. Ajisen Ramen is one of the restaurants that has played a part in the Hougang Mall face lift.

Most customers will opt for the Ajisen set (Drink + Ramen + Side dish, @ $13.80++) as it's more worthwhile than ordering ala carte.
~*Cold Green Tea*~
i like it as it is, unsweetened~
~*Side dish: Prawn Mayonnaise*~
Juicy fried prawns served with lots of mayonnaise (alittle too much mayo for me though).
~*Vegetable Curry Ramen*~
Erh... i liked their variety and generous serving of vegetables, however, probably 'coz it was already slightly past 9pm, the curry flavoured soup was diluted and tasted a 'lil like curry flavoured cup noodle soup instead... it was not at all impressive...

Yellow Tail Chardonnay~

Wine wine wine, i'm so into wine recently. Well, ain't saying that i like beer no more, i still do. It's just that i prefer wine better, 'coz it doesn't make you feel bloated. Wine have so much to offer, different types of wine, depending on the country it was produced from, the year...red...white... they all taste different.
~*Yellow Tail Chardonnay (2006) Australian*~
Fruity scent and a pleasant tinge of sweetness~

Fusion~

i had a hard time deciding between western and asian cooking for yesterday's lunch-in. So... tah dah~ FUSION!
~*Spinach Soup*~
Spinach, sliced onions, golden mushrooms, egg white and black sesame seeds~
~*Appetiser-Assorted Mushrooms with Special Sauce & Asparagus Crepe roll*~
Asparagus, golden mushrooms, sliced oyster mushrooms, dressed with japanese mayonnaise and specially concocted sweet & spicy sauce crepe rolls~ (My favourite dish of the three).
~*Stir-fried Beef Rice Set*~
Seasoned stir-fried beef slices with fresh button and golden mushrooms, and sliced onions, served with dou miao, chick peas and rice~ (p.s. can you spot the christmas tree shaped rice?). Hmmm... as for the presentation, there's still room for improvements... :p

Wyndham Estate Show Reserve 2001 Cabernet Merlot~

This is an Australian Cabernet Merlot style wine, that encompasses the rich blackcurrant and cassis flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon complemented by the generous plum flavours and soft tannins of Merlot.

~*Wyndham Estate Show Reserve 2001 Cabernet Merlot*~

Smooth and enjoyable. 2 thumbs up~ f.y.i. this wine contains 14.5% alcohol, so don't hurry yourself, enjoy and indulge in every sip~

New Tree Chocolate~

Bitter chocolates are simply irresistable~ This digest noir chocolate contains cactus extracts that reduces fat uptake...hmmm...
~*New Tree Digest Chocolat Noir*~
73% Dark chocolate that has a rich initial taste but leaves a light after taste...interesting~ Hmmm, but i'm still a 'lil skeptical 'bout the reduce calorie intake abilities of the cactus extract in the chocolat noir~ $5.80 for an 80g block of NewTree chocolat, available at Candy Empire.

1901~

1901 is a specialises in hotdogs~ There are a few take-away counters all over sg.
~*Chicken Sandwich Hotdog*~
For $2.30 you get a chicken hotdog in bun. Thier self-service sauce counter, which provides mustard, ketchup and chilli sauce allows customer to "dress" their hotdogs to their own preference.

Food For Thought~

i've been wanting to visit this place for sometime... Food For Thought is located at North Bridge Road, directly opposite the National Library. Their specialites include, their very own salads, specially prepared soups, sandwiches, drinks and desserts.
~*Lychee Sage Freeze*~
Refreshing~
~*Chinese Chicken Caesar Salad & Shitake Mushroom Fennel Soup*~
i love the rich taste of shitake mushroom in the soup, however for people who like strong flavours would probably find the soup too bland. The chicken caesar salad is served with stewed hard boiled egg, which is what makes the dish unique.
~*Basil Pesto Chicken Sandwich & Shitake Mushroom Fennel Soup*~
i didn't quite enjoy the sandwich as the bread was alittle too dry and hard for my liking and there was too much olive oil dressing in the salad and the chicken sandwich. Bottomline... it was too oily for my liking.
i would definitely go back for their soups~
