Black Sesame Seed Cookies~

Wee hee hee~ finally baked cookies that are crunchy but non-buttery or crumbly. i didn't follow any recipe so everything was purely based on estimation and "innovation" :p This was the first batch that came out of the oven this morning.

Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Plain flour
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tbs Black sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Mixed spice/Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 cup Corn oil
  • 2 tsp Corn flour in 3 Tbs of tap water (stir-well to mix)
  • 1/2 tsp Pineapple essence, added to cornflour solution (optional)

Method:

  1. Sift plain flour into a mixing bowl. Add in brown sugar, black sesame seeds and mixed spice. Stir and mix well.

  2. Add in corn oil and 1 1/2 tbs of cornflour solution, mix well till a crumbly dough is formed.

  3. Line baking sheet onto baking tray. Preheat oven at 180 degree celsius.

  4. Mould individual balls of dough into desired shapes, lay them onto a baking tray, press down to flatten slightly.

  5. Lightly brush each cookie with cornflour solution before sprinkling black sesame seeds over.

  6. Bake cookies for 15 mins at 180°C, followed by another 3 mins at 200°C.

  7. Allow cookies to cool before enjoying them~
