Random~

i think most of us are familiar with Xing Wang 24 hours hongkong cafe. How about Xing Wang hongkong kitchen? They have an outlet at White Sands, Pasir ris, and this was what i had...
~*Century Egg Porridge*~
It is not as tasty as Crystal Jade's century egg congee. They served the dish together with a whole piece of fried you tiao.
i had dinner at People's Park Food Centre last evening and this time, i remembered to try out the special chin cheong fun...
~*Pork Floss Chin Cheong Fun*~
Cucumber slices, pork floss, lettuce and carrot shreds wrapped with chin cheong fun~

~*Fish Cutlet with Brown Rice*~
This is also from the same stall. They also serve pork/chicken cutlet with brown rice, white rice or chin cheong fun (chinese-western fusion).

The Soup Spoon~

Finally had a chance to dine at The Soup Spoon (The Market Place, Raffles city). The highlight of the place is none other then their variety of soups. Apart from that, they serve sandwiches, wraps and salads to complete the meal. With an addition of $3.70, each soup (regular or grande) order can be upgraded to a SouperValue Combo meal (half sandwich/wrap/salad + a beverage or snack).

~*Tangy Tomato Soup*~
The soup was served with a yummie soft herb roll. Don't underestimate the soup serving, i was about 90% full by the time i finished the soup.

~*Herbed Caesar Chicken*~
i was alittle disappointed with the sandwich, both the bread and the chicken were kinda dry.

~*Ding Dong*~ next stop, watering hole~

When it comes to German beer, Erdinger's my number 1 choice, and Paulaner's a close second~

~*Paulaner Lager (left), Paulaner Dark (right)*~

Smooth and refreshing~ Check out the shape of the foam~

KimGary Restaurant~

There are quite a number of Hong Kong cafes in Singapore and for those who have patronised KimGary Restaurant (Hong Kong cha2 can1 ting1) at Vivocity, would definitely agree that it's one of the best HK cha can ting around ya.
*Ice Milk Tea*
It's just nice, not too sweet, not too blend, not too diluted, not too thick... i very much prefer this than Xing Wang's bing1 nai3 cha2 (which is too sweet).
*Sweetened Condensed Milk with Peanut Butter Thick Toast*
This is the first time i actually tried the Hong Kong style thick toast, which is usually sweetened with condensed milk. i love the texture of the bread, soft on the inside, well toasted on the outside. Hmmm... wonder if i can just order plain thick toast...
*Noodle Soup with Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable*
The Shanghai noodle was smooth, fine and went very well with the soup. i actually finished the entire bowl of noodles (for someone who don't fancy noodles), it was pretty good ya.
*Erdinger*
Look! Erdinger served in a mug instead of their typical tall classy glass. i still prefer the tall glass though.

88 Restaurant~

A get-together dinner with the relatives at 88 Restaurant. Shown below are pictures of 7 of the 9 dishes.
~*Lobster Salad Cold Dish*~
This was good! A light and refreshing cold dish, a great way to kick off the dinner.
~*Sharksfin Soup without the sharksfin*~ (that's if you can find any)
i'm not an avid sharksfin lover but a bowl of starchy soup with stock, doesn't justify the cost of the dish ya.
~*Steamed Prawns with Herbs*~
Fresh and succulent.
~*Stir-fried Scallops with Vegetable*~
i was busy attacking the macadamia and cashew nuts (apart frim the juicy scallops)
~*Abalone with Mushrooms*~
i "attacked" the cooked lettuce which was almost submerged in thickened gravy.
~*Chilli Crab*~
It wasn't very fantastic and was a little bit too sweet.
~*Mango Pudding*~
It was alittle too sweet for my liking. But i enjoyed the small mango chuncks though.

Overall, the dinner was enjoyable ya. Thx Dad :)

Bendeemer coffee shop~

A simple dinner at bendeemer coffee shop...

~Lai Heng Rojak~
Most of us have heard of the popular Bendemeer Hawker Center Eat May How rojak, Lai Heng's rojak, is just as good too ya! The you tiao and tao pok were nicely toasted, together with beansprout, turnip, pineapple, cucumber, kang kong (just the stem, no leaves), nicely mixed in their special prawn paste and sprinkled with a generous serving of toasted ground nuts.
~Seafood soup~
Tasty soup with fish slices, ginger, tomatoes, seaweed, crab stick and 1 prawn.
