Salad Party~

Of all salad bars or salad buffets, nothing beats a d.i.y salad party in the comforts of your own home! Not only do you have the luxury to choose what ingredients to include, you can also adopt your own style of presentation and the choice of dressings to go with the salad. If you've a loaf of bread at home, you could also have a Salad & Sandwhich (2 in 1) Party!
~*Mini-salad bar*~
Selection of dressing for the night includes, parmesan cheese, thousand island sauce, lemon chilli sauce, japanese mayonnaise and McComick's salad topping (mixture of bacon bits, soy beans, parsley, rice puffs, sunflower seeds...etc)
~*Fresh iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced japanese cucumber, straw mushrooms & chopped button mushrooms*~
~*Fresh Buttercup*~
Star veg of the night! Hmmm... i wonder why it's called buttercup?
~*Diced Carrots, Golden Mushrooms & d.i.y Grilled Chicken Fillet*~
The grilled chicken was the star meat of the night (haha, the only meat on the salad menu). The chicken was nice and tender, well marinated (sesame oil, pepper, oyster sauce and black & white sasame seeds with a dash of chilli powder) and grilled to perfection, simply yummie-licious (really!).
~*Ooh lah lah Chicken & Shrooms Salad*~
Alittle of everything, dressed with salad toppings, 1 tsp of spicy lemon chilli sauce, 1/2 tsp of parmesan cheese and some freshly squeezed lemon.

La Pizzaiola~

This place was recommended on ieatishootipost's blog, the italian pizzas looked sooo~ good, hence i decided to check the place out last evening. i wasn't exactly blown away by their pizza, on the contrary, it was just average, not that i'd roll back to the place any time soon...
The pictures shown below are single slice servings which costs $4. They were preheated before serving, hence there wasn't the cheesy-stretchy mozeralla effect. It would be better to go for a full pizza as they will be freshly baked after the order is made.

Answers, anyone?

Kimchi Chige Soup~

Have you experienced food that tasted so bad that it just spoilt your day? This Kimchi Chige Soup was one such example. i was at the food court in cineleisure this afternoon and came across this korean food stall (which looked quite promising) and decided to give it a try... (Deh~ bad decision...).
Firstly, the appearance looked un-appetizing, the kimchi looked as though it has been left out in the open for too long and looked somewhat dehydrated...

Next the glass noodle was gooey and eeky, and there were quite a number of sliced cabbage stalk that should have been discarded instead of adding 'em to the soup. i also didn't like the way they included luncheon meat cubes into the soup.
I ended up fishing out the cabbage and tofu and avoided the rest. The only good thing about it was that the soup was very spicy and that's just about it...

Romankan Yokohama~

A simple and quick jap meal, anyone? If you adore katsu, you'd definitely have to check out Romankan Yokohama! It's a small eatery located at Takashimaya basement 1 makan place, somewhere beside the escalator.
It is a small eatery with a seating capacity of about 25-30 and katsu bento or fillet katsu sandwich are their main speciality.
~*Homemade Fillet Katsu Sandwich*~
i simply lurrvvve this sandwich, yummie-tasty pork fillet katsu with special sauce and jap mayo, tomato slices and buttercup lettuce, packed in a cute 'lil plastic wrapper. Although it is tagged at $3 per sandwich, it's definitely value for money.

~*Katsu Curry Set @$14*~

Katsu served with boiled vegetables, wedges and rice, with a choice of soup or salad, curry sauce and a drink. The curry is unique as it contained tender, finely sliced meat that gave the japanese curry the added oomph~

~*Chicken Fillet*~

If a set is simply too much for you to handle, could simply just order the katsu. Besides pork fillet katsu there are ebi, chicken fillet and pork-loin katsu. The katsu was deep fried to perfection; juicy katsu within the golden brown crunchy breaded layer. Best of all, it was not too oily.

Besides dining-in, they do offer take-away orders too. i liked their nice, friendly and warm service. Will certainly be back for more katsu :p~

Korean Minimart*~

This dedicated mini mart sells a wide array of korean products. If you can't find what you're looking for here, most probably you'd have to get it from korea...i think...
~*76% Dark chocholate (No sugar added)*~
Well, it's not exactly sugarfree, there's still some amount of white sugar content in the chocolate (just sufficient to mast the ultra bitter cocoa taste).

p.s. lotte chocolate fans can get their lotte chocolate fix from this mini mart too~

This korean minimart is located at Burlington Square, along the mainroad, directly opposite the bustop.

Yama Yuki (2)~

This is the second time i patronised Yama yuki. There were some changes to their pricing, packaging and serving size. The doubles' special is now at $5 for 2 servings (cone/cup) with a slight increase in serving size. The cup was slightly larger than the one they served during my previously. Nevertheless, the friendly guy at the counter gave free toppings of either raisins or chopped roasted peanuts. He was generous with the free toppings too.
~*Green Tea Soft Ice cream with roasted nuts topping*~
For matcha soft ice cream lovers, this is definitely a must try japanese soft ice cream. Eh... but for people who love their creamy and rich tasting ice cream, this may not suit your palette...

~*Mushroom soup*~
It was creamy and rich. Hmmm... if only they added some chopped mushrooms... it would have given more o0mph to the soup.
~*Pork Bratwurst with Sausage (plain crepe)*~
Juicy sausages, seasoned pork bratwurst and fresh lettuce :p~~~
~*Yum Yum Mushroom (Sun-dried tomato flour crepe)*~
Sauteed chinese mushrooms, straw mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, fresh lettuce and ricotta cheese~ The mild sweet & sour flavour of the sun-dried tomato flour crepe simply made it a perfect combi.

Tiramisu~

Finally! My very first homemade Tiramisu cake~ It's much easier to prepare than cakes that require baking! :p~~~ For those that are interested to try out the recipe... click here~
~*Tiramisu*~
Coffee, liquor, sweet, bitter, smooth, soft, hurrr~
~*Mini Tiramisu*~
Haha~ looks a 'lil like dirt cake...

A word of advice for those who wanna try out this recipe... do drizzle (NOT SOAK) the lady fingers with the brewed coffee + rum, as stated in the recipe to avoid uneven flavour distribution.

Cute 'lil Baking Necessities~

Awww~ so pretty and cute...
i've no clue where these are from, Daiso maybe? Make a guess, anyone?
