keke... i was in the mood to make ice cream last night. And this was what i came up with~ No frills home made ice cream~
~*Chocolate Ice Cream*~
Bittersweet chocolate ice cream, made with chocolate truffles~
Recipe
Ingredients
- 300 ml Sweetened Non-Diary Whipping Cream
- 1.5 Tbs Custard Powder (Bird's brand - A substitute for egg yolk custard)
- 300 ml Low Fat Fresh Milk
- 1 C Melted Chocolate Truffles
- 1 Tbs Vodka
- 1 tsp Coffee Emulco
- 1.5 Tbs Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Method
- Dissolve custard powder with 2 tablespoons of fresh milk.
- Bring the remaining fresh milk close to a boil on medium heat. Dissolve the cocoa powder in the hot milk.
- Remove from heat and pour the dissolved custard into the hot milk, stirring constantly for about 1 minute, leave it to cool to room temperature (A).
- Add vodka into the melted chocolate truffles and mix well (B).
- Add the coffee emulco to the whipping cream and whisk (Be careful not to overwhisk).
- Fold in the chocolate custard(A) and the chocolate mixture(B).
- Pour into a plastic container and refrigerate for at least 4 to 5 hours before serving. Enjoy!
