Chocolate Ice Cream~

keke... i was in the mood to make ice cream last night. And this was what i came up with~ No frills home made ice cream~

Bittersweet chocolate ice cream, made with chocolate truffles~

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 300 ml Sweetened Non-Diary Whipping Cream
  • 1.5 Tbs Custard Powder (Bird's brand - A substitute for egg yolk custard)
  • 300 ml Low Fat Fresh Milk
  • 1 C Melted Chocolate Truffles
  • 1 Tbs Vodka
  • 1 tsp Coffee Emulco
  • 1.5 Tbs Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

Method

  1. Dissolve custard powder with 2 tablespoons of fresh milk.
  2. Bring the remaining fresh milk close to a boil on medium heat. Dissolve the cocoa powder in the hot milk.
  3. Remove from heat and pour the dissolved custard into the hot milk, stirring constantly for about 1 minute, leave it to cool to room temperature (A).
  4. Add vodka into the melted chocolate truffles and mix well (B).
  5. Add the coffee emulco to the whipping cream and whisk (Be careful not to overwhisk).
  6. Fold in the chocolate custard(A) and the chocolate mixture(B).
  7. Pour into a plastic container and refrigerate for at least 4 to 5 hours before serving. Enjoy!
